Even though we all know that it’s very harmful, we smoke cigarettes every day like there’s no tomorrow. Along with doing drugs and drinking alcohol, smoking is the worst habit you can have. It’s not just dangerous for our health – it’s outright deadly. According to statistics, nearly 40% of Americans smoke or have smoked in the past, with most having experience one kind of lung-related disease or another.
A primary cause of lung cancer, smoking kills millions of people every year. Minor respiratory and lung problems are almost a given for each smoker. Cigarettes are full of harmful additives including formaldehyde which can do a lot of damage to our lungs. In some cases, it can be repaired, but in others, it can be irreversible.

- The risk of throat and mouth cancer is also significantly higher in smokers;
- Bit by bit, smoking destroys your lung tissue which may lead to COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder). An umbrella term for a group of lung diseases, COPD is quite hard to treat and can be the basis for the development of lung cancer;
- Expert studies have confirmed that smoking narrows down our arteries and raises the risk of stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.
