The lymphatic system is a network of organs and tissues that eliminate toxins and chemicals from the body via the lymph. The lymph is a fluid rich in white blood cells which is manually moved throughout the system by muscle contraction.
Due to its role in elimination, the lymphatic system is a vital part of the immune, detox, central nervous and digestive system. The so-called GALT lymphatic tissue lines the digestive tract and catches any kind of harmful compound that enters our system through the digestive system. As it’s highly important, the lymphatic system should be kept clean and healthy at all times.
3-day lymphatic cleanse
In order to keep the lymphatic system properly functioning, you need to promote detoxification and boost lymph drainage. In the past, Native Americans used sweat lodges to promote detoxification, and the same practice was used even in the ancient Ayurveda practice.
Today we’re going to show you a simple 3-day cleanse which will support your lymphatic system, move the lymph around and keep the lymphatic system clean and properly functioning.
Where do you start?
First of all, you need to eliminate every potential food allergens such as wheat, soy, dairy, gluten, corn, preservatives and food additives from your diet. Processed foods and drinks should also be avoided, as should trans fatty acids which can be found in margarine, French fries and commercial baked goods. You should have a cup of coffee only for breakfast and never on an empty stomach as it can stress the adrenals.
Alcohol, sodas and cigarettes can also cause quite a lot of harm, so it’s best to avoid them. In order to support the detox process, drink 6-8 glasses of pure water, exercise regularly and enjoy the sun every day. Furthermore, you should also use a good lymph-cleansing herbal tincture every day – just add 30 drops of it in a glass of water and drink it to assist the cleaning process.
Here’s how the program goes:
Find as much green veggies as possible. You can use zucchinis, parsley, celery, green onions, carrots, broccoli, turnip greens, mustard greens, green peppers, cabbage, spinach, lettuce and beets. Carrots and beets are not green vegetables, but they have a variety of nutrients which will support the detox process.
Now, wash all the vegetables nicely and make sure to use them whole, roots included. Add everything in a large pot with a few gallons of filtered water, then cook on low heat for a couple of hours with a lid on. In the end, remove the mixture from the heat and leave it to cool down, then strain it and store the veggies in the fridge for later use. Drink three 8 oz. glasses of the mixture every day before lunch and dinner to boost the function of the lymphatic system.
Drink 3 glasses of the mixture before your meals – if you’re getting low, add more filtered water.
Drink the mixture as instructed, but make sure to eat the vegetables as well. After the third day, start reintroducing foods into your diet, but go slow.
For best results, you need to eat broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower more often, and make sure to include some watercress in your diet as well. Drink 6-8 glasses of water every day and replace vegetable cooking oils with olive or coconut oil. Enjoy the sun, breathe deep and exercise every day and repeat the 3-day lymph cleansing method every fall and spring to keep your body in shape.
