Instant noodles are a favorite to many people, especially to college students since they’re a cheap and fast meal. Still, many people don’t consider noodles to be bad as burgers are!   

According to Dr. Braden Kuo from the General Hospital in Massachusetts, you need to think twice. He managed to insert a little camera in the stomach of a person who just ate a noodle and looked what was going on after that. The results shocked him!

The video presents a Ramen noodle in the stomach of a person. The noodle is still undigested even after 2 hours. This fact is worrying. It makes your system of digestion to work hard for a long period of time so that it can digest the food and it becomes overburdened.

When we eat food that takes a long time to be digested, it impacts the absorption of the nutrients. Foods that are digested quickly break down fiber easily which later comes into contact with the sugar found in our blood as well as the release of insulin release.

Noodles don’t contain plenty of nutrients. They contain additives and one of them is a toxic preservative that goes by the name of tertiary butyl hydroquinone. When these additives come into your body, they can create quite a mess!

5 Grams of TBHQ May Cause Death!

TBHQ is often called an “antioxidant”, but it is actually a byproduct of the petroleum industry. This chemical is synthetic and it isn’t natural. It has the ability to prevent the antioxidants of fats and oils and in that way, prolong the life of processed foods.

All kinds of processed foods: Reese’s peanut butter cups, McDonald’s chicken nuggets, Teddy Grahams, etc., contain this ingredient. This is a product that even varnishes, lacquers, cosmetics, pesticide products and perfumes contain since it makes them more stable and lowers their evaporation.  

According to the WHO, TBHQ is considered safe for intake only at 0-0.5 mg/kg of the weight of a person. The Codex commission allows 100-400 mg/kg but it mostly depends on the food where this chemical is added into.

There is even chewing gum which contains the highest level of TBHQ.

It would be the best if you have a very small amount of this toxicant or none of it. 1 gram of it can cause vomiting, nausea, delirium, tinnitus, collapse and feeling of suffocation.

Our body can eliminate it because TBHQ is not a persistent toxicant, but make sure you aren’t exposed to it for a longer period of time.  

According to researches performed on animals, TBHQ taken in low doses caused biochemical changes and liver problems, while when it was given at high doses, it caused positive mutation and various reproductive effects.

Instant Noodles Are Connected to Metabolic Syndrome

According to a particular study, women who consumed noodles often had an increased risk of acquiring metabolic syndrome.

They had a 68 % risk of metabolic syndrome (high blood pressure, central obesity, low HDL cholesterol, increased triglycerides and increased blood sugar).

They can even develop diabetes or cardiovascular problems. Researchers claim that these noodles aren’t supposed to be in healthy foods.

People who consumed instant noodles didn’t intake important nutrients like iron, calcium, protein, vitamin A, potassium, vitamin C and niacin. These people also had a lot of unhealthy fats, a lot of energy and sodium.

What Else Do Noodles Contain?

The block of dried noodle contains salt, wheat and palm oil and the flavoring is full of monosodium glutamate, sugar, salt and seasoning.


According to a research performed by the KFDA in 2012, even 6 brands of noodles contained a substance called Benzopyrene that is known as cancer causing. The amounts weren’t harmful, but they were present.

Make sure you substitute noodles for something else. Avoid artificial ingredients, carbs, salt, sugar etc. Consume more fruits, vegetables, fresh food, whole food, eggs etc.

Change your diet as soon as possible to remove processed foods from your menu.
