Essiac is actually the name of the person who discovered the tea if you spell it backwards. Rene Caisse (which is pronounced “reen case“) was a nurse from Canada. She found a natural formula created of 4 very powerful herbs.
A woman told her the formula. She claimed that she managed to fight breast cancer because of it.
Caisse’s aunt got liver and stomach cancer in the meantime. The doctors told her that she would only live for 6 months. Fortunately, Caisse gave her the treatment with the herbal blend and she lived 21 years more without any occurrence of cancer again.
Along with her aunt’s doctor, Dr. R.O. Fisher experimented this treatment a little bit more. Caisse also stopped being a nurse and dedicated most of her time to researching Essiac. Many people wanted to oppose, especially the ones from the pharmaceutical companies and caused her problems, but she managed to heal thousands of people who had cancer as well as numerous other diseases.
Caisse managed to treat a doctor called Dr. Charles Brusch with the Essiac blend in 1959. He also helped her and they created an even more powerful treatment against cancer known as the Brusch-Essiac Tea.
Caisse gave her formula to a Canadian company in 1977. The government decided to do clinical studies, but they withdrew it in 1982 and it wasn’t approved further.
