These Are 6 Of The Best Essential Oils That People Who Love The Great Outdoors Can Use As Much As They Want To


We’ve all used essential oils. We mostly use them for their aroma, but we can also use them for various things.

Here, we’re presenting you 6 essential oils as well as their uses especially if you’re a hiker and you often go camping wearing a special gear:

1. Arborvitae:

Arborvitae originates from Canada and is also called “tree of life”. The aroma of the oil is warm and earthy. It possesses very powerful purifying and also cleansing properties and can also repel any insect. It contains thujic acid. How to use it:
  • Add several drops of this oil into a spray bottle filled with water. Start spraying your body or surfaces which you want to protect.
  • 10 drops of this oil should be put into a spray bottle with water. Spray it on your body to repel insects.

2. Peppermint:

How to use it:
  • Dilute some peppermint with some coconut oil and rub it on your neck, shoulders, and back. You can also apply it on your knees and feet so that you can soothe and relieve some aches.
  • Breathe in peppermint if you’re without energy or you’re tired. It will clear your breathing.
  • You can also dilute peppermint with coconut oil and apply it on your abdomen to relieve digestive problems.
  • Put 10 drops of peppermint oil into a spray bottle filled with 120 ml of water and use it to cool off.

3. Lavender:

Lavender comes with plenty of benefits. It can soothe your skin from sunburn and help you against insomnia. You’ll also treat cuts if you apply some coconut oil in which you’ve a little bit of lavender oil.

How to use it:
  •  Apply it on sunburns or any skin irritations.
  • Add 20 drops of lavender oil into a 10-mL roll-on bottle with coconut oil inside. Use it on any skin condition.

Lavender After-Sun Spray

  • 10 drops of peppermint essential oil
  • 10 drops of lavender essential oil
  • ½ a cup of water or witch hazel
  • 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
  • 5 drops of chamomile essential oil


Just put all the ingredients into a spray bottle of 4-ounces. Shake everything very well.

4. Melaleuca:

Melaleuca is very well-known as tea tree oil. Its aroma is herbaceous. It’s excellent against  skin irritations and it can help you have a healthier immune system. You just have to apply some coconut oil with several drops of tea tree oil onto any type of skin problem and you’ll soon notice an improvement.

How to use it:
  • If you have some skin irritations occasionally, apply 2 drops of this essential oil on the area. If the skin is young or sensitive skin, you should dilute it.
  • Add 2 drops of this oil in some water, vegetable or fruit smoothie and you’ll have an improved immune system.
  • Purify your toe and fingernails by applying this oil.

5. Eucalyptus:

This oil will help you have clear airways. You’ll breath easily by inhaling it. It is also good for an improved immune system. Use it after a long run or hike to wake your body up. It’s also excellent against any skin irritations.

How to use it:
  • Put several drops of this oil on your hands before you work out. Inhale and you’ll feel more energy.
  • Combine 5 drops of peppermint oil with 5 drops of eucalyptus oil into a spray bottle of 2-ounces with water and you can use it as a cooling spray during the summer.

6. Helichrysum:

Use this essential oil against scratches or cuts. It restores the skin instantly. It can also help you reduce scars or blemishes.

Helichrysum Outdoor Cleaning Wipes
  • 1 tablespoon of fractionated coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon of Castile soap
  • Paper towel roll
  • 1 cup of water
  • 5 drops each of helichrysum, melaleuca and lavender essential oils
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons of witch hazel
  • small plastic container or zipper plastic bag


First, you have to put the roll with paper towels inside the container where you’ll put the wipes. Put a mark on where you’ll cut the roll. It has to fit inside. Use a serrated bread knife and cut the roll in half.

Mix the essential oils, water, fractionated coconut oil, witch hazel and Castile soap together.

Soak the pieces of paper towel in the mixture and leave them to rest for several hours. Shake the container from time to time.  

After the time has passed, remove the cardboard piece in the center. You’ll pull out your first wipe. Then, use the space to pull out other wipes.
